coffee info

This coffee has been produced by Daniela Diaz Cumbe, on her family’s farm, Villa Mercedes.

Villa Mercedes is a family farm located in Huila. It was acquired by Daniela's parents back in 1985, nestled at an elevation of 1450 metres above sea level. Initially operated by her parents, the farm became Daniela's mother's sole responsibility after her father's passing. Meanwhile, Daniela pursued her studies.

Upon completing her education, Daniela made the decision to get involved in coffee farming, carrying on the legacy passed down by her mother. She and her siblings inherited a wealth of knowledge from their mother, shaping Daniela's deep affection for this special place.

why we picked this coffee

We were on the hunt for a coffee that's f***** solid and we found it. Not crazy, not lame either, just solid. A coffee you can drink at anytime of the day and not get your tastebuds assaulted (as is the custom with the anaerobic coffees these days), but still find complexity (if you look for it). So you'll have to DO THE WORK to explore these flavours - and contrary to the current zeitgeist - I promise you, you will enjoy it more if it takes some effort. Admittedly it's pretty expensive for just a "solid" coffee, but let me tell you this: people who become masters of their craft always return to the basics and keep perfecting that. The ultimate balance: YIN-YANG is worth its weight in gold.

Namaste, my dear people, namaste!
